The National Career Development Association has awarded Rebecca Michel, an associate professor of counseling, its Diversity Initiative Award in recognition of her cultural responsiveness within the domain of career-related activities.

In 2020, Michel established two initiatives with DePaul students and alumni — DePaul WORKS (Workplace Opportunities through Reflection, Knowledge, and Skills) and the Career Digital Equity Project — to provide more equitable career development for diverse and marginalized members of the university community.

Michel has also co-edited a book, written five book chapters and three scholarly articles, and presented two educational videos and more than 30 career-focused conference presentations.

The National Career Development Association provides professional development, publications, standards, and advocacy to practitioners and educators who inspire and empower individuals to achieve their career and life goals.
