College of Law Dean Jennifer Rosato Perea receives top honors

This summer two Chicago law organizations honored Jennifer Rosato Perea, dean of the College of Law, with top awards.

This summer, Jennifer Rosato Perea, dean for DePaul’s College of Law, was recognized with the Leonard Jay Schrager Award of Excellence and Top Women in Law Award. 

Established by the Chicago Bar Foundation, the Schrager Award of Excellence recognizes exemplary attorneys in academia who have made significant and lasting contributions to improving access to justice for the less fortunate. The Chicago Bar Foundation highlighted Rosato Perea as one of the first Latina law school deans in the U.S. and a trailblazer in the field of law committed to diversity, equity and inclusion and maintaining the academic excellence. 

Law Bulletin Media and Chicago Lawyer Magazine created the Top Women in Law Award to celebrate influential women in law. The organization honored Rosato Perea for her work to mentor and promote other women in the profession, her success in the legal community and being a shining example of leadership.
