Current DePaul freshmen are invited to apply for the Steans Center's Community Service Scholarship. Applications are due by Friday, April 19.

The Community Service Scholarship is a three-year program that involves students in increasing levels of sophistication in service learning and activism. Current freshman who have exceptional records of community involvement in high school or who have participated in programs at community-based organizations are highly encouraged to apply. Twenty-five students are selected annually to receive $6,000 per year for three years of continuous enrollment at DePaul.

Community Service Scholars take on a large commitment starting in their sophomore year. Scholars are required to complete 30 service hours every quarter with community partners of the Steans Center. Scholars are also required to maintain a 2.7 GPA, complete the Community Service Studies academic minor and attend quarterly workshops focused on topics related to service learning.
