In early September, Information Services announced the WiFi improvement initiative, Light Up DePaul. The project is a significant investment DePaul is undertaking to improve the WiFi experience, provide 100 percent coverage, and improve speeds at DePaul. Since then, Information Services and Facilities Operations have made extensive progress toward enhancing WiFi service across campus.

Begun in mid-September 2018, the project is now a little more than halfway done, including the completion of 10 building spaces across Loop and Lincoln Park campus locations. Some notable buildings completed include McGowan North and South, Arts and Letters Hall, and the Lewis-O’Malley building, which went online with more than 130 new wireless access points at the beginning of the winter quarter. Work currently is in progress at the Schmitt Academic Center and DePaul Center locations, with an anticipated completion date in February.

During the project we are making every effort to minimize any inconvenience and impact to current WiFi service. The full project is still on track to complete by June, and project progress updates can be found on the Information Services website. Thank you for your patience while we improve this service for the community.
