DePaul University President Robert L. Manuel has been selected as a member of the board of directors for the Cristo Rey Network, effective July 1, 2024.
The
Cristo Rey Network is a non-profit organization focused on preparing youth from low-income families for post-secondary educational opportunities. Manuel has been actively involved in the Cristo Rey Network since he was a dean at Georgetown University.
“The Cristo Rey Network is a highly respected leader for mission-driven education, and I'm honored to serve on its board of directors" Manuel says. "I look forward to working with Cristo Rey in support of its mission, which closely aligns with our own, ensuring all students have access to an outstanding education."
Founded in 2000, the Cristo Rey Network is comprised of 39 Catholic, career-focused, college preparatory schools who work together to deliver a powerful and innovative approach to education that equips students from families of limited economic means with the knowledge, character and skills to achieve their aspirations.
"We look forward to the fresh perspectives and innovative ideas our new board members will bring to the network. Their diverse expertise and enthusiasm will undoubtedly drive us to new heights," says Kelby Woodard, president and CEO of the Cristo Rey Network.
Manuel's appointment to the Cristo Rey Network board of directors follows his
election as vice chair of the board of directors of the National Association of Independent Colleges of Universities.
