Horvath died peacefully at home in Palatine, Ill. He was a beloved son born Oct. 30, 1964, to Joseph Horvath and the late Lois (nee Nemunaitis), and dear to his stepmother Mary Horvath (nee DeLaVergne) of over 40 years. He was a loving brother to his devoted sister Donna Smith, a caring uncle “Ush" to Benjamin and Nathan Bosco, a nephew to his Aunt Yolanda Ebbing and dear cousin to many.
Horvath brought creativity, humor and steadfast devotion to the world. He worked for 30 years for Barnes & Noble. In his 18 years of sobriety, he presented his unassuming and genuine self to uplift and support others through AA. He served countless friends and strangers in his lifetime with a quiet sensitivity.
The family will receive friends in the Gathering Area at St. Christopher Church, 20141 Detroit Road, Rocky River on Monday, March 7, from 10 – 11 a.m. Mass will be celebrated at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be offered to Pacific Garden Mission, 1458 S. Canal St., Chicago, IL 60607.
