It is with sadness that we share the news Lorraine A. Trzaska, mother of Janet Trzaska, director of Foundations Relations in the Office of Advancement, passed away at age 94. She died peacefully in Palm Desert, Calif., on Sept. 23.

Trzaska lived a good, full 94 years. A proud graduate of Providence High School ('44) and Mundelein College ('48), she was a strong supporter of Catholic education and advocate for social justice. A woman of faith, grace, integrity, and a generous loving heart, she touched many lives through her years of teaching, volunteer work, political action, and church service, all while raising her family and caring for her own extended family.

Her love for her six children, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren was unwavering and unconditional, and she is fiercely loved by them. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a funeral mass and burial will be held at a later date. A memorial mass will be said in California in October.
