In memoriam: George Anderson Morrison, father of Family and Community Services' Orson Morrison

Stained glass

It is with great sadness we have learned of the death of George Anderson Morrison, the father of Orson Morrison, the director of DePaul Family and Community Services.

Morrison was born in Georgetown, Guyana and immigrated to Toronto, Canada as an adult where he lived until his passing. Morrison was a creative soul. Throughout his life he worked as a hairstylist and fashion designer. He was an avid gardener and master chef. In recent years, Morrison completed his memoir which is yet to be published.

Morrison was the loving father of Orson and Eloise Morrison; grandfather to six grandsons, Lucas, Owen, Jayden, Jorden, Jacksen and Julien; caring brother to Judy, Anne, Aubrey and Godfrey; and a loving partner to Dave Belton. His late parents were Stella and George.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Morrison's name to LUNGevity the nation's largest lung cancer-focused nonprofit, changing outcomes for people with lung cancer through research, education, and support.
