In memoriam: Aaron Lee, alumnus and adjunct faculty member

We are saddened to learn of the passing of Aaron T. Lee, an alumnus (CMN ’17) and adjunct faculty member in the College of Communication. Lee died on June 20.

A graduate of the MA in journalism, Lee also worked as a graduate assistant while completing the program. He built an impressive career in sports journalism, working as reporter, producer, and multimedia journalist for WVLA-TV in Baton Rouge, LA, and as Senior Sports Producer for KPRC in Houston, where he received an EMMY nomination as producer of the program “Sports Sunday.”  

Lee recently achieved one of his dreams to work for ESPN by becoming Bureau Sports Producer for the network. He also created his own production company in 2020, A. Lee Productions, producing and directing his first film, “Dream Chasers,” the following year. In 2019, Lee became an adjunct faculty member for the College of Communication, teaching courses in the journalism program. He will be missed and remembered by many family members, friends, loved ones and colleagues.
