Vincent on Leadership: The Hay Project is housed within DePaul’s School of Public Service (SPS). For more than 40 years, the public service program has addressed the need for leadership development among those seeking careers in nonprofit organizations and government agencies, emphasizing critical thinking, communication skills, and hand-on experience.

Today, approximately two-thirds of SPS students pursue a career in the nonprofit sector, and one-third work in government. SPS is unique in that it educates the two groups together, helping students to gain a practical knowledge of each sector’s challenges, thereby fostering a working relationship that provides a foundation for future collaboration.

The School offers six different graduate degree programs:

  • International Public Service, M.S.
  • Leadership and Policy Studies, M.S.
  • Master of Public Administration, M.P.A.
  • Master of Nonprofit Management, M.N.M.
  • Public Service Management, M.S.
  • Public Service Management, J.D./M.S.

The staff and faculty of Vincent on Leadership: The Hay Project offer the MPS 520 elective course, “Values-Centered Leadership” through SPS, and occasionally lecture on leadership topics in other SPS courses.
