Marketing & Communication

​​The Marketing & Communication team manages DWN’s voice and spreads the word about the Network's mission and events. This work entails coordinating and producing DWN event communications, maintaining DWN's digital presence (website, event information and its registration), and ensuring the creation of quality content for all DWN messaging and materials (email and online). Ideal candidates should be detail-oriented and have excellent writing skills. Sharepoint training is required. ​​​

Focus Areas

  • Content creation (DWN email communications and event registration)
  • Website management (maintain and update content)
  • Marketing and promotions (drive the marketing of DWN events; order promotional items, if any)

Desired Qualifications for Director of Marketing & Communication

  • Excellent organizational and collaboration skills, with ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated writing and editing skills
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint and Eventbrite, or a willingness to learn
  • Broad understanding or interest in communications
  • Experience with content strategy and creation preferred

Team Member Core Responsibilities

  • Draft DWN emails for event promotion, with ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Create DWN's event email campaigns in partnership with CRM (Customer Relationship Management)
  • Brainstorm creative ways to develop engaging written and/or visual content
  • Research and order promotional items for DWN, if needed

Director and Team Member Opportunities

  • Develop content creation and writing experience
  • Learn the CRM email communication process at DePaul
  • Gain website editing skills (use/learn SharePoint)
  • Develop experience implementing marketing and communications campaigns
  • Gain experience managing and leading a team and medium- to large- scale projects
Time commitment per month varies based on projects. Directors meet monthly with DWN leadership.
