Membership & Engagement

The Membership & Engagement team creates meaningful connections and events for DWN members in the form of roundtables, panels and networking events. Additionally, members on this team manage the Members-at-Large application and selection process, and also facilitate member concerns and questions.

Core Responsibilities

  • Contributes ideas, expertise, personal and professional connections to develop engaging, quality events centered on the professional/personal development, networking and support of DWN members
  • Develops a balanced variety of topics targeting both women in general and specific populations and/or areas of concern
  • Leverages personal and professional connections, seeks out internal and/or external partners to raise profile and desirability of DWN member events
  • Manages the Members-at-Large application and selection process during the fall as well as throughout the year as opportunities arise with guidance from the Executive Vice President
  • Provides content for DWN communication channels (e.g., website, social media)
  • Facilitates Members-at-Large involvement and engagement in network activities
  • Leads the research, design and development of training as it relates to mentorship within the Network

Additional Required Skills & Abilities

  • Willingness to contribute ideas, expertise, personal and professional connections to develop engaging professional development-focused events
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Acrobat)
  • Handling conference logistics (reserving the needed rooms, catering, onsite registration)

In addition to the required skills listed above, the Membership & Engagement Director has:

  • 3- to 5-years’ experience managing staff and/or medium- to large-scale projects
  • Demonstrated experience developing staff and proven ability to guide less-experienced team members
  • A background in training/development/curriculum design (desired)

Time Commitment: Director (6-8 hrs/mo), Team Member (4-6 hrs/mo)​
