Take Care DePaul: Resources for students diagnosed or exposed to COVID-19

Take Care DePaul

During these challenging times and to help Take Care, DePaul, resources are available to support students who have received a positive COVID-19 diagnosis or have been exposed to the virus.

​In addition to the resources listed below, the Office of Health Promotion and Wellness team is available virtually by appointment to connect on- and off-campus students with local medical and mental health resources. To make an appointment, complete this form or call (773) 325-7129.

Report a confirmed COVID-19 case

If you learn of a confirmed case or exposure to COVID-19:

  • Report about yourself here
  • Report about someone else here   

Faculty, staff and students can also report a case or exposure to COVID-19 by calling (773) 325-3300 between 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week. The privacy and anonymity of faculty, staff and students who test positive for COVID-19 and those who may be part of a contact tracing investigation will always be maintained. To learn more about DePaul's COVID-19 reporting process, please visit Newsline

University Counseling Services

For mental health support, students can schedule an initial consultation with a university counselor by calling 773-325-7779.

For faculty and staff who have concerns about a student's mental health or well-being, please use one of the following:

  • Call (773) 325-7779 and ask the front desk staff to connect you with the on-call psychologist for consultation.
  • Provide the student with UCS' contact information. UCS is not authorized to contact a student for a wellness check.
  • For immediate safety concerns or escalated behavior after business hours, including weekends and between the hours of 5 p.m. and 9 a.m. on weekdays, call DePaul's Public Safety at (773) 325-7777. They will reach out to an on-call psychologist. 

Division of Mission and Ministry

Staff are available to provide pastoral care and support for people of all faiths or spiritual backgrounds, as well as for those who do not claim a particular tradition or belief. Please email Diane Dardon at ddardon@depaul.edu.

Center for Students with Disabilities

If a student is experiencing a longer recovery period from COVID-19 and they're unable to perform one or more major life activities, contact CSD to schedule an appointment to discuss accommodations by calling (312) 362-8002 or emailing csd@depaul.edu.

Financial support

Students who are facing an unexpected, documented financial emergency that could impede or suspend their progress towards their degree completion, contact the Dean of Students Office.   Limited emergency funds are available to those who apply and meet certain criteria on a case-by-case basis. Students must be actively enrolled to apply for emergency funding.
