As we settle in other another academic year, it’s important that students understand their rights when it comes to their information. The Family Education Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, commonly referred to as FERPA, provides students with certain rights regarding educational records. These rights are:
- The right to inspect educational records
- The right to request amendment of education records
- The right to consent to disclosures
- The right to complain under FERPA
FERPA also protects information about race, gender, Social Security Number, grades, GPA, country of citizenship and religion from being made available public.
Without student consent, family cannot see grades or personal information. Students can grant access to people through their
Campus Connect account.
