DePaul launches student food pantry

Student Food pantry

Note: Due to COVID-19, the DePaul Student Food Pantry will be open for the spring quarter Monday - Friday, from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. in the Lincoln Park Student Center, room 120 A/B.

On Tuesday, Feb. 4, DePaul will open a new DePaul Student Food Pantry. Located in room 326 of the Lincoln Park Student Center, the pantry will feature non-perishable food items, as well as easy-to-warm frozen meals.

Though all students have access, DePaul designed the pantry to help food insecure students not currently on a university meal plan. Funding for the pantry began in 2018 through meal plan swipe donations from students. Since then, a number of campus partners worked together to launch the initiative.

The pantry will open two days a week – Tuesday and Friday – from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. A student I.D. is required for access. Though unstaffed during open hours, staff from Chartwells and the Student Center will regularly maintain and stock the pantry.

Information about donating food or toiletry items, and opportunities to volunteer will be available in the coming weeks.

Questions or issues with the pantry may be directed to the staff in suite 303 of the Lincoln Park Student Center.
