New mentorship program
This fall, the ECC introduced a new mentorship program. When Blue Demons volunteer to become mentors they will work with middle school students from the surrounding Chicago area to build meaningful relationships and serve as role models.
This is an opportunity for counseling, education, psychology and other related majors to gain experience. DePaul students will take part in trained social-emotional learning discussions that will leave a positive lasting impression on their mentees' lives. They also will receive service-learning hours, a letter of recommendation from ECC staff and an impactful experience to add to their resumes.
Tutoring program
Are you looking for a way to become involved in the DePaul community and have a meaningful experience? If so, tutoring with the ECC could be right for you.
As a tutor, Blue Demons will work with students from the Lincoln Park community in the subject area of their choice to help them improve academically. Past tutors and parents have emphasized the impact they have seen on their child when a reliable adult helps them feel confident in their academic skills. Blue Demons will gain service-learning hours, receive a letter of recommendation from the ECC staff and add valuable experience to their resumes.
This opportunity is especially beneficial for any DePaul student who is looking to explore a career in teaching or a career involving children.
