Telling DePaul’s Community Engagement Story

Collaboratory is an online, publicly searchable, relational database that captures how DePaul
faculty, staff and students are connected to the community through course-based engagement,
student volunteering, community involved research, and other types of community engaged
outreach and public service. This database captures the university’s community-based activities
and organizes them into a framework that can leveraged for reporting, storytelling, and
community-level change. Faculty and staff have a place to tell their stories of engagement,
while community members can search and learn using the public website.

It is important for faculty and staff to capture their community engagement work in Collaboratory
as a way to showcase their efforts and connections to community, while also being a part of
DePaul’s larger story of engagement. Collaboratory enables the university to understand
the full extent to which we are accomplishing goals related to our work in and
with Chicago communities and beyond.

If your work involves community partners or community members, chances are it belongs in
Collaboratory!
