As we enter into a new decade, it is a great time to make sure you are making your DePaul benefits work for you.
DePaul offers a variety of benefits that go above and beyond health coverage, the 403(b) retirement plan and insurance. Below is a quick overview of some of the benefits being a DePaul employee affords you. If you are not using these benefits, take some time to explore if they can save you money now or in the future.
403(b) Retirement Plan
This benefit essentially offers “free” money for match eligible DePaul employees—if you contribute five percent, DePaul will match 10 percent. Even if you are not yet match eligible, all full- and part-time faculty and staff can enroll in the
403(b) retirement plan and take advantage of the opportunity to save on a tax-deferred basis.
Transportation Benefits
Set aside pre-tax contributions for the reimbursement of travel expenses associated with commuting to and from work at DePaul. The
transit and parking programs can reduce taxable compensation for eligible faculty and staff members.
Employee Assistance Program
Guidance resources provides convenient, confidential access to counseling, online financial educational resources and legal support. Call center and short-term counseling experts can help you and/or your immediate family members.
Child and Elder Care
The
Bright Horizons Care Advantage program provides access to back-up care services for children and adults, including center-based and in-home care. The program also includes access to a comprehensive database of nannies, baby-sitters, pet-sitters, homework help and more.
Healthy Vincent’s Wellness Program
Get paid for engaging in healthy activities. All active full- and part-time, benefits-eligible faculty and staff enrolled in a DePaul medical plan, as well as COBRA participants,
are eligible to earn a $300 incentive for earning points through participation in the
Healthy Vincent's Wellness Program.
Tuition Benefits
Demon Discounts
Being a part of a large university in an urban setting has allowed DePaul to partner with a multitude of vendors to provide discounts to students, faculty and staff. Vendors range from categories including: Arts and Entertainment, Dining, Financial, Health and Beauty, Shopping, Technology, Transportation and Travel. So before you purchase something or go out, see if there is a
Demon Discount.
All of these benefits are not only intended to save you money—they are intended to help make your life just a little easier so you can devote more time to your friends, family and the work you do at DePaul to help students succeed.
