Throughout the academic year, DePaul University updates its policies, and this lists all such updates adopted from Jan. 1, 2023, to the present.
If you have not already sat down with your manager to informally discuss progress toward your 2022/23 performance, now is a great time to do so.
Through the HR and Payroll Help Center, employees will find knowledge articles that can assist with common questions and inquiry forms to highlight their specific needs.

DePaul’s Bright Horizons Back-Up Care benefit now includes pet care and live, virtual camps for children. Benefits-eligible employees have access to 15 days of back-up care per calendar year.
DePaul PPO and CDHP health plan members now have access to services provided by RUSH Physical Therapy at two locations on the Lincoln Park Campus.

DePaul's medical plan pharmacy benefits, which are provided through BCBSIL/Prime Therapeutics, now cover over-the-counter diagnostic tests for COVID-19. This coverage is per new federal guidance and is effective through the end of the federal public health emergency.
Although we just started a new calendar year, we are already halfway through the current staff performance appraisal period. The 2021-22 performance appraisal cycle officially ends on June 30, and the due date to submit your completed performance document to Human Resources via BlueSky is Sept. 1.

Do you still have unused vacation hours? If you do, now is the time to figure out how you will use your vacation time and discuss it with your manager. Any vacation time in excess of five days that is not used by Dec. 31, 2021, is forfeited.

In BlueSky, state tax withholding are based on the home address. Therefore, Payroll is asking all employees to check their home address in BlueSky to make sure it reflects the state from which the employee is providing services for DePaul.
In preparation for DePaul students returning to campus this fall, more employees will begin returning to work on campus starting Monday, July 19. While some employees may perform their work fully on-site or fully off-site, many employees will work a hybrid of on-site and off-site during their work week.
With the 2020-21 staff performance appraisal period having ended on June 30, now is the time for employees and managers to ensure that the performance appraisal is completed by Sept. 1 and to set goals for 2021-22.
The Stress Relief Days Program provides two days of paid time off for full-time, benefits-eligible employees, to be used between June 20 and Sept. 22, 2021. These hours must be used as whole days and must be recorded.

As with other human resources applications, the university's annual performance appraisal forms are now in BlueSky. If you haven't already, you can enter your goals now through the "Career and Performance" tile on your BlueSky homepage. Your performance appraisal form will be available on June 1 and should be submitted by Sept. 1.
As shared previously via email, DePaul's Summer Hours Program for full-time staff begins on Friday, June 18 and runs through Friday, Sept. 3. For the College of Law, the Summer Hours period will extend from Friday, May 28, through Friday, Aug. 20, due to the college's semester schedule.
As was shared previously, effective July 21, 2021, Fidelity will become the single service provider for receiving contributions and providing plan services for DePaul's 403(b) Retirement Plan. The university will host two more virtual meetings on May 11 and 13 where faculty and staff can learn more.
Beginning May 1, usual co-pays that apply to back-up care services provided by Bright Horizons will be waived, meaning you can reserve care for your child or adult loved one at no cost. As a reminder, you have access to 15 days/uses of back-up care per year.
DePaul will transition to a more focused approach for the university's 403(b) plan this summer. The university will host informational webinars to support employees through this change in April and May.
Employees receiving a COVID-19 vaccination, or who experience side effects from the vaccination, can use paid time off.
Effective on or around July 1, Fidelity will become the single service provider for receiving contributions and providing plan services for DePaul’s 403(b) retirement plan. All future contributions to the plan will be made to accounts at Fidelity, including employee pre-tax deferrals as well as the university matching contributions.
If you think you may be interested in a new opportunity within DePaul, take the time now to complete the skills and qualifications section within BlueSky. This "talent profile" creates an internal resume viewable to you and your manager. It also will serve as your internal application for any jobs you apply to at the university.
DePaul was recently informed by the Illinois Department of Employment Security that overpayment notice letters were sent in error. These letters went to anyone who has recently reported fraud or is in the system but has not applied for or received unemployment benefits recently.

The best way to ensure you maximize your vacation benefit is to make a plan early in the calendar year on when you will take time away from work. Managers are encouraged to ask their employees early in the year about vacation plans to get a general idea of workforce availability.

The BlueSky team -- including Information Services, Finance and Human Resources -- have continued to make progress and are on target to have the new system in place in January 2021.

Over the next few months, DePaul will transition its human resources and finance PeopleSoft applications to a cloud-based system called Oracle Cloud. Currently, PeopleSoft is the system for financial and human resources transactions for the university.
