The program offers a solution in this difficult time where the university has slowed down its hiring for positions due to the financial impacts of the current pandemic; and where some current staff have had their schedules reduced because of remote operations.
It is important that all members of the DePaul community are familiar with the basics of COVID-19, as well as the current safety protocols implemented at the university. To this end, DePaul has created an interactive online training course.
Since many of our employees are parents of school-aged children, DePaul realizes the significant impact this decision will have for our workforce. DePaul's leadership team is encouraging managers and employees to partner in the development of workable solutions -- many of which will be temporary arrangements during this pandemic.
The deadline for the 2019-20 staff performance appraisals has been extended to Oct. 1. This decision was made in collaboration with Staff Council and in response to hearing that pushing the due date back to Oct. 1 for one more year would help alleviate some stress given our current situation.
As part of gathering research and recommendations to support DePaul's approach to re-opening campus, the university administered a survey in June. The purpose of the survey was to engage our faculty and staff so their perspectives could inform the university's planning efforts.
DePaul's window for completing annual staff performance appraisals for the performance period of July 1, 2019, through June 30, 2020, is now in progress. Completed forms are due to the Office of Human Resources by Sept. 1.
DePaul's Summer Hours Program beganins on Friday, June 19, and will continue through Friday, Sept. 4, for eligible employees.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic shifted the majority of our university operations to remote work, some areas of DePaul have been experiencing a very high or normal volume of work while others have experienced a reduction in work. Eligible DePaul faculty and staff can take advantage of the summer months to earn points in the Healthy Vincent’s Wellness Program. The wellness program is part of an ongoing initiative to promote the health, safety and productivity of DePaul’s faculty and staff. All eligible employees can earn a $300 incentive for accumulating 100 points through participation in healthy activities through Oct. 31, 2019.
Over the next few months, DePaul will transition its human resources and finance PeopleSoft applications to a cloud-based system called Oracle Cloud. Currently, PeopleSoft is the system for financial and human resources transactions for the university.
