The Office of Human Resources is working with fellow DePaul staff members to find the best ways to recognize good work. A recent climate survey indicated employees want to see increased efforts around non-monetary recognition.

In an effort to understand what non-monetary recognition strategies would be meaningful to DePaul staff, HR held three focus groups on this topic in November and December.

"The response from staff to participate was impressively high," says Isabel Diaz, director of employee relations and engagement.

A non-monetary recognition survey will be distributed to all staff on Feb. 9.  It will be available through Feb. 23. The survey will reflect the common themes expressed in the focus groups. Your survey response will be used to inform and guide HR as they develop strategies for non-monetary recognition.

Employee recognition can take many forms - a positive shout-out during a meeting, a potluck lunch or a personal note. The survey is another opportunity for DePaul staff to comment on what types of non-monetary recognition matter most to them.
