Coming soon: Open enrollment for 2022 benefits

Lincoln Park Campus

Every year, benefits-eligible employees have the opportunity to enroll in or make changes to their DePaul benefits during the open enrollment period. Any changes made during the upcoming open enrollment period will become effective on Jan. 1, 2022.

Before the two-week open enrollment period begins in late October, it is a good idea to think about how your current benefit choices are working for you and what benefits-related needs you might have during 2022.

One tool employees might find helpful is ALEX, DePaul's virtual benefits “counselor." This online tool helps you to review options so that you get the most out of your benefits and use your money wisely. Although the current ALEX link contains 2021 benefits coverage and cost details, DePaul is not anticipating any significant change to our healthcare coverage for 2022 so the information is still useful for planning purposes. ALEX helps you choose benefits, but ALEX doesn't actually make any enrollment changes for you. You will still need to make your benefits elections through BlueSky during the Open Enrollment period.

DePaul's Office of Human Resources also will hold the annual Health and Benefits Fair in October. While this fair is usually an in-person event, it was converted to a virtual format last year due to the pandemic and will be virtual again this year. The university will not host in-person biometric screenings and flu shots.

Employees enrolled in the 2021 Wellness Program have until Nov. 30, 2021, to complete program activities to be eligible to earn a $300 incentive credit toward their 2022 medical plan premiums. For details, see the 2021 Wellness Program Point Schedule. Wellness Program participants will receive additional information by email.

Questions about benefits at DePaul may be directed to the benefits team at (312) 362-8500 or hrbenefits@depaul.edu.
