Plan ahead for 2022 vacation

Vacation 2022

Do you have a plan for how you will use your vacation hours in 2022? If not, now is the time to take out your calendar and figure out a plan for your time off.

Planning out your time away from work for the entire calendar year helps you use all the vacation hours you've earned. It also helps your manager plan for coverage for your team's projects and responsibilities.

To check your vacation balance, request time off, and see your currently submitted requests, go to the Time and Absences tile in BlueSky where you can choose from the following options:

  • Add absence – Request an absence and submit for approval
  • Absence balance – Review current plan balances and absences taken or requested
  • Existing absences – View, change or withdraw existing absence requests

Keep in mind as you plan your vacation time for calendar year 2022 you may have more time than in previous years because of DePaul's one-time increase in vacation hours carryover. As announced at the end of 2021, employees could carry over 10 days of vacation to be taken in 2022. Please note, the increase in carryover is only for this year. After Dec. 31, 2022, the carryover allotment will return to five days of unused vacation hours.
