Summer is a great time to use your vacation hours

Out of the office and at the beach

It is mid-year and time for benefits-eligible employees to calculate how to use vacation hours now through the end of 2022.

To check your vacation balance, request time off, and see your currently submitted requests, go to the Time and Absences tile in BlueSky where you can choose from the following options:

  • Add absence – Request an absence and submit for approval
  • Absence balance – Review current plan balances and absences taken or requested
  • Existing absences – View, change or withdraw existing absence requests

Please note, there was a one-time increase in vacation hours carryover for 2022, but after Dec. 31, 2022, the carryover allotment will return to five days of unused vacation hours.

Full-time staff employees should be sure to take advantage of DePaul's Summer Hours Program. The Summer Hours Program allows full-time staff employees 3 p.m. Friday departures during the summer. For employees whose schedules cannot accommodate early departures, three additional summer floating holidays can be substituted.
