Throughout the academic year, DePaul University updates its policies, and below is a listing of all such updates adopted from Jan. 1, 2023, to the present.

Major changes include new policies or major revisions to policies that were recently approved by the president. Minor changes were made without going through the full review process.

Major changes

University Vehicle, Driver, and Travel Safety — Effective 2/3/2023

Revised to require certification for routine drivers of rental vehicles for the university, allow volunteers to become certified, and establish a minimum age requirement for any transport of minors. The changes also reduce administrative burden by streamlining the certified driver training requirements and provide additional clarity in the policy language to help units determine if driver certification is required for their operations.

Minor changes

Volunteer Management — Effective 2/13/2023 (Revised to reflect that volunteers may become certified drivers per the approved changes to the University Vehicle, Driver, and Travel Safety policy)

Military Leave of Absence — Effective 2/13/2023 (Updated link to new Military Leave of Absence Request Form)

Tuition Waiver — Effective 2/13/2023 (Various non-substantive changes to improve clarity)

Vacation — Effective 2/2/2023 (Updated form and link to process for requesting a vacation advance)

Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) — Effective 2/2/2023 (Removed references to a specific leave-administration vendor)
