Commencement > For Faculty

For Faculty

Faculty and staff members are encouraged to participate in commencement ceremonies, as this marks a milestone in the lives of our students, their families and friends.

Participation includes the opening procession, joining university officials on stage and celebrating with our graduates and their guests.

Mask-wearing will be highly recommended, though not required, during the ceremony in alignment with the guidance outlined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Chicago Department of Public Health. Guests will not be asked to provide proof of vaccination to enter the venue. DePaul encourages guests traveling from out of state to get tested before attending. The ceremony will be streamed online for those unable to attend in person.

Due to their proximity to other graduates, unvaccinated graduates will be asked to provide proof of a negative COVID test within 72 hours of their ceremony when they check in at the venue. Students may test on campus, provide results from a testing facility, or use a rapid home test.

The university will continue to monitor the situation and will share any updates to protocol by email, in Newsline and on this website.

Faculty and staff who have reserved regalia should plan to pick it up at on the Commencement Kickoff dates for their college.
