For Faculty

Grad2019
Faculty and staff members are encouraged to participate in commencement ceremonies, as this marks a milestone in the lives of our students, their families and friends.

Participation includes the opening procession, joining university officials on stage and celebrating with our graduates and their guests. College coordinators will be assisting faculty and staff with commencement, and a list of coordinators may be found below. Logistics information will be provided closer to commencement.

2022 Commencement Ceremony Information

Faculty should have received general information about your college's commencement ceremony from your college coordinators.

Parking and Transportation

Because paid parking in the area is highly limited, we encourage faculty to use public transportation or taxi/rideshare options. Wintrust Arena is accessible by city bus and elevated train. Please visit the Wintrust Arena website to learn more. Leave ample time when traveling to Wintrust Arena.

Please be aware that the area surrounding Wintrust has very limited paid street parking, though parking garage options are available. Please be aware that we expect Lot A to reach capacity quickly. With six ceremonies occurring over two days, traffic in the area may be heavy when guests from one ceremony are exiting parking areas while guests for the next ceremony are arriving. Click here for parking information.

Faculty Arrival

Faculty are instructed to enter the Wintrust Arena via the 21st Street VIP entrance, located on the south side of 21st Street, mid-block between Indiana and Prairie Avenues. Please arrive one hour before the start of the ceremony.

COVID-19 Guidelines

Based on the Chicago Department of Public Health's latest guidance, masks are highly recommended at commencement for all graduates and their guests based on the gradual increase in cases, however they are not required. Students and guests will not be asked to provide proof of vaccination to enter the venue. DePaul encourages guests traveling from out of state to get tested before attending. The ceremony will be livestreamed  for those unable to attend in person. The university will continue to monitor the situation and will share any updates to protocol by email, in Newsline and on this website.

Faculty Hooders

Faculty who will be administering a hood to a graduate during your ceremony should watch this brief video for a quick overview.

2022 Commencement Kickoff
