Graduation Cords & Stoles

Graduation cords and stoles are available for purchase or distributed by honor societies and student groups.

Legacy Cords

At DePaul it’s been a tradition for our graduates to think bigger than themselves and to help pay it forward for current students who may need help next year. You have a chance to join your 2024 classmates in leaving a legacy by donating to support any area of DePaul that you are passionate about. Every gift, no matter the size, will make a difference. Once you make your donation you will receive a legacy cord to wear proudly at commencement.

Honor Cords

DePaul does not give honor cords based on GPA. However, graduates who are members of an honor society, affinity group, or student organization may receive an honor cord or stole symbolizing achievements throughout their academic career. Please check with the group or organization to see if they provide honor cords or stoles.

International Stoles

Graduation stoles representing more than 175 countries and regions are available for purchase through Herff Jones. Additional stoles can be added to your existing cap and gown order or ordered separated.
