Commencement > Tickets

Three graduates pose and celebrate while waiting to take their seats at commencement.
When DePaul moved commencement to Wintrust Arena, the university realized that benefits of Wintrust's city location and new amenities would also require some adjustments to the way we stage commencement, including instituting a ticketing system.
Free general admission tickets will be required for most commencement ceremonies held in the Wintrust Arena. Please read all information regarding tickets within this section to ensure that family and friends are informed in advance of commencement day.

Ticket Distribution

Students have two opportunities to pick up tickets: at Early Ticket Pickup on April 16-17, and the Commencement Kick Off Event on June 4-7. Students are encouraged to attend one of these events to ensure they receive their tickets in advance of commencement weekend. Please note, cap and gown pick up is exclusively at the Commencement Kick Off Event.

Tickets are limited and are specific to each ceremony. The number of tickets is based on the number of graduates within your college. Graduating students do not need a ticket.

Tickets will be required for anyone sitting in a seat. All children three feet and taller must have a ticket (as enforced by the Wintrust Arena).

Once you have your tickets, please keep close track of them. Students who lose their tickets will not be given replacements.

Early Ticket Pickup

In response to suggestions from the Student Government Association and feedback from graduating students, we are planning an early opportunity for students to pick up tickets and help their fellow classmates. Please note, all students are welcome to attend either pick up event.

Monday, April 16
Lincoln Park Student Center - Atrium
2250 N. Sheffield Ave.
8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Tuesday, April 17
DePaul Center - 11th Floor Gallery Lounge Area
1 E. Jackson Blvd.
8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

At these events, students will have the opportunity to pick up tickets to their ceremonies and return any tickets they do not plan to use.

Students who would like the chance to receive additional tickets to their ceremony will then have the opportunity in late April to enter their names into a lottery.

By early May, we hope to complete the lottery and inform the students who have entered if they will receive additional tickets.

Instructions for the lottery will be shared on this website and in emails to graduating students as the dates approach. With the addition of these ticket pick up events in April, students no longer will need to wait until the days before their commencement ceremonies to learn whether they will receive additional tickets.

Wintrust Box Office

If you need to leave your tickets at the Wintrust Arena Box Office under a name other than yours, you must let us know that at the Commencement Kick Off Event, or communicate as such to University Events no later than Thursday, June 7. Unfortunately, requests after this date will not be accepted.

Additional Tickets

There are two ways students can acquire additional tickets for their commencement ceremonies:

1. Share with your fellow graduates. We highly recommend connecting with fellow graduates within your college to share unneeded tickets.

2. Enter the lottery for unused tickets. As described above, the lottery will occur in late April and students will know by early May whether they have been selected to receive tickets that their fellow classmates do not plan to use.
While we hope students share tickets, students are highly discouraged from selling extra commencement tickets to their classmates and attempting to profit from this celebratory event.

Please note that a live webcast of all ceremonies will be available at this website beginning at the starting time for each ceremony for those who are unable to attend.
