Tickets are required for all guests attending DePaul commencement ceremonies and are general admission on a first-come, first-served basis.

Please expand the sections below for information about Law Commencement and the June Commencement ceremonies.

Law Commencement

Ticket numbers will be determined by the number of expected graduates at commencement. For the 2024 commencement, each graduate may request up to eight (8) guest tickets, plus a ticket for themselves.

Graduates must have applied for graduation and RSVP'd to the ceremony to receive tickets. To RSVP, please fill out the Law Commencement RSVP form. The deadline to RSVP for the 2024 commencement is April 15.

All graduates and guests need to have a ticket to enter the venue. Tickets are distributed digitally via Ticketmaster and the MSG app 1-2 weeks before the ceremony. Please see below for information about accessing and transferring your tickets.
Beginning Monday, February 5, at 9 a.m. (CST), the ticket lottery will go live for Law graduates to request up to five (5) additional guest tickets from the unclaimed ticket pool. Tickets will be awarded on a first come, first served basis. Ticket availability is dependent on attendance at commencement.

To be eligible, graduates must have first filled out the Law Commencement RSVP form. When filling out the lottery form, please use the same contact information entered in the RSVP form to ensure that all tickets are added to your Ticketmaster account.

The deadline to enter the lottery will be April 15th at 11:59 p.m

The availability of extra tickets is not guaranteed and depends on the number of graduates and amount of returned or unclaimed tickets; please plan accordingly.

All student and guest tickets will be distributed electronically via Ticketmaster.

  • To receive and transfer your tickets, you and your guests will need to take the following steps.
  • Tickets will be dispersed in May. Tickets will be visible in the MSG App – see below for instructions on downloading and using this app.

For Students: process for receiving and transferring tickets

  • You should have already created Ticketmaster account and provided that information when you RSVP’d. Alternatively, you may have provided your existing Ticketmaster account information.
  • If you DID NOT create a Ticketmaster account:
    • Create an account linked to your DePAUL EMAIL address. If you have an existing account, add your DePAUL EMAIL address.
    • There is no charge to create an account. Click here for a step-by-step guide to create an account.
    • The account must be linked to your DePaul email address.
  • Each student will receive 1 student ticket (your ticket) as well as general admission guest tickets. If you will not use all your guest tickets, you may share with a fellow student via the transfer process. Note: once you give away a ticket, you will not be issued replacements.
  • To access your tickets, download the MSG App on to your mobile device. Once the app is downloaded, you and your guests can use your established Ticketmaster login credentials to log on and manage your tickets. There is no need to create a new account—you can/will access tickets on the MSG App by using your Ticketmaster login.

Transfer tickets to your guests using the steps below under For Your Guests. Remember to retain one ticket for yourself; graduates without a ticket will not be allowed into the Chicago Theatre.

Here is a guide for you to understand how the Transfer Ticket Process works.

For Your Guests
Your guests will also need to create or have a Ticketmaster account to receive the ticket transfer from you.

  • In addition, your guests will need to download the MSG App on to their mobile device. Once the app is downloaded, your guests can use their established Ticketmaster login credentials to log on and manage your tickets. There is no need to create a new account—you can/will access tickets on the MSG App by using your Ticketmaster login.
  • Once you have received the tickets, you will transfer tickets to your guests (who will also need to establish Ticketmaster accounts) through Ticketmaster’s “Ticket Transfer” feature. Your Ticketmaster account will show specific seat rows and numbers to transfer; however, guest seating is unassigned and first come first served.
  • Remember to transfer ONLY guest tickets; you must retain ONE ticket for yourself.
  • Guests will receive an email with instructions to accept their tickets.  From a mobile phone, guests can click on the "Accept Tickets" button and login to their Ticketmaster account.
  • If your guests do not have a Ticketmaster account, they can create a new one to accept their tickets.  Please note: the email address to which the ticket transfer is sent must match the email address on the recipient’s/guest’s Ticketmaster account to claim their tickets.
  • We encourage you to share the following link with your guests: https://help.ticketmaster.com/s/article/How-do-I-accept-transferred-tickets?language=en_US#text

What if my guest does not have a smartphone?
If family members are attending together, you may transfer the tickets to one person with a Ticketmaster account. The group will need to enter together so that the tickets may scanned at the same time. For example, if you have a relative who does not have a smartphone, another relative may receive the ticket for this person. When they come to the venue, they will enter together and the ushers will scan both tickets.

Can I screenshot a ticket?
Screenshots are not possible. A message will pop up if a screenshot is attempted.

How else can my guests and I manage our tickets?
In addition to downloading the MSG App, you may also access and manage your tickets by visiting the Account Manager website at https://am.ticketmaster.com/msg
