Three students stand at commencement
When DePaul moved commencement to Wintrust Arena, the university realized that benefits of Wintrust's city location and new amenities would also require some adjustments to the way we stage commencement, including instituting a ticketing system.
Free general admission tickets will be required for most commencement ceremonies held in the Wintrust Arena. Please read all information regarding tickets within this section to ensure that family and friends are informed in advance of commencement day.

Ticket Distribution

Students have two opportunities to pick up tickets: at Early Ticket Pickup on April 16-17, and the Commencement Kick Off Event on June 4-7. Students are encouraged to attend one of these events to ensure they receive their tickets in advance of commencement weekend. Please note, cap and gown pick up is exclusively at the Commencement Kick Off Event.

Tickets are limited and are specific to each ceremony. The number of tickets is based on the number of graduates within your college. Graduating students do not need a ticket.

Tickets will be required for anyone sitting in a seat. All children three feet and taller must have a ticket (as enforced by the Wintrust Arena). If children are sitting in someone's lap, they do not need a ticket.

Once you have your tickets, please keep close track of them. Students who lose their tickets will not be given replacements.

While we are encouraging students to help their fellow classmates by sharing tickets, we're aware that some students have been taking advantage of the situation and are attempting to sell their extra tickets. Because we  wanted tickets to be easily transferable, preventing the practice of ticket sales is outside of our control.

Wintrust Box Office

All tickets that are not picked up at Commencement Kick Off, including lottery recipient tickets will be taken to the Wintrust Arena Box Office. If you need to leave your tickets at the Wintrust Arena Box Office under a name other than yours, you must let us know that at the Commencement Kick Off Event, or communicate as such to University Events no later than Thursday, June 7. Unfortunately, requests after this date will not be accepted.

Box Office Hours

Saturday, June 9
6:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.

Sunday, June 10
12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Additional Tickets

There are two ways students can acquire additional tickets for their commencement ceremonies:

1. Share with your fellow graduates. We highly recommend connecting with fellow graduates within your college to share unneeded tickets. Graduates planning on attending commencement are allowed to share their unneeded tickets. Tickets are allotted to a graduate once their cap and gown order is placed.

2. Enter the lottery for unused tickets. The lottery occurred in late April and students were notified shortly after whether they had been selected to receive tickets that their fellow classmates do not plan to use.

While we hope students share tickets, students are highly discouraged from selling extra commencement tickets to their classmates and attempting to profit from this celebratory event.

Please note that a live webcast of all ceremonies will be available at this website beginning at the starting time for each ceremony for those who are unable to attend.

The number of tickets are determined by the number of graduates in each college.
