Dear College of Law graduate,

 

Please accept our heartfelt congratulations on being so close to earning your DePaul degree! We understand you applied to graduate or may be close to earning enough credits to graduate this academic year. This accomplishment truly exemplifies your hard work and perseverance to complete your degree. We are extremely proud of your academic achievements and look forward to celebrating with you at DePaul’s commencement ceremony in May.

 

On that note, we wanted to share the 2024 College of Law commencement ceremony date and time, so that you, your family, and friends can begin planning now for this milestone event. Detailed information about the ceremony will be shared in January via email and on the commencement website.

Saturday, May 18, 2024
11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. (Doors open at 10:00 a.m.)

Tickets

DePaul provides each graduating student free general admission tickets. Ticket availability will be determined by the number of expected graduates in attendance. Ticket allotments will be communicated in January.


Purchasing regalia 

To participate in your commencement ceremony, a cap and gown are required. The Herff Jones ordering site is expected to launch in February. Master's and Juris Doctor regalia include a cap, gown, tassel, and hood.

As your graduation approaches, be on the lookout for more important information. In the coming months, we will share details about tickets, the lottery to receive additional tickets, and regalia ordering via email, Newsline, and the commencement website.

Your 2024 commencement ceremony is fast approaching! We look forward to celebrating with you at The Chicago Theatre on Saturday, May 18. Below is a list of upcoming deadlines and to-do items to prepare for your commencement.

 

KEY DATES & DEADLINES

  • Feb 2: Ticket RSVP and regalia ordering forms open
  • Feb 5, 9am: Guest Ticket Lottery form opens
  • Apr 10: Deadline to create a (free) Ticketmaster account to receive your digital tickets
  • Apr 15: Deadline to RSVP for tickets, purchase regalia, and enter the guest ticket lottery
  • May 15-16: Attend Commencement Pickup on campus
  • May 18: Attend commencement ceremony at The Chicago Theatre

 

CEREMONY RSVP, TICKETS & REGALIA ORDERING
Graduates must RSVP to the ceremony to reserve tickets and must purchase regalia by April 15. All graduates will receive nine (9) total tickets—one for the graduating student and eight guest tickets.

 

GUEST TICKET LOTTERY
Beginning Monday, February 5, at 9 a.m. (CST), the ticket lottery will open for Law graduates to request up to five (5) additional guest tickets from the unclaimed ticket pool. The deadline to enter the lottery is April 15.

 

Tickets will be awarded on a first come, first served basis. Ticket availability is dependent on attendance at commencement.

 

To be eligible, graduates must have first filled out the Law Commencement RSVP form. When filling out the lottery form, please use the same contact information entered in the RSVP form to ensure that all tickets are added to your Ticketmaster account.

  • Kellstadt Graduate School of Business

  • College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences and the School of Continuing and Professional Studies
    6:00-8:30 p.m. (Doors open at 5:00 p.m.)

In just a few months, DePaul will celebrate its 125th Commencement!

As a member of the Class of 2024, please review this email carefully for information about deadlines, the ceremony RSVP, reserving tickets, purchasing regalia, and other important commencement details.

Key Dates & Deadlines
Below are some key dates and deadlines on your road to commencement. The full ceremony schedule is available here and at the bottom of this email.

·    Feb 2: Ceremony RSVP, regalia ordering, (extra) guest ticket lottery, and student speaker application sites open

·    Mar 10: Deadline to apply to be your ceremony’s student speaker

·    Apr 30: Deadline to RSVP to your ceremony, purchase regalia, and enter the (extra) guest ticket lottery

·    Early May: Guest ticket lottery results emailed to entrants

·    June 5-6, 11-12: Attend Commencement Pickup event (June 5-6 for Loop colleges; June 11-12 for LPC colleges)

·    June 15-16: Attend your commencement ceremony


Ceremony RSVP & Guest Tickets
You will receive six (6) guest tickets for your ceremony in June. To RSVP to your college’s ceremony and reserve tickets, visit Campus Connect and select the Advising, Progress & Graduation tile, then RSVP for Commencement. Your six guest tickets will be reserved once you submit your RSVP for the ceremony. You will be able to pick up your tickets at Commencement Pickup. More information about the pickup event will be shared with you in spring quarter.

Please note the RSVP button will only be visible after you have applied to receive your degree. The deadline to RSVP and reserve tickets is Tuesday, April 30.

Guest Ticket Lottery
If you are seeking more than six guest tickets, be sure to enter the Guest Ticket Lottery for a chance to receive additional tickets from the unclaimed ticket pool. The deadline to enter the lottery is Tuesday, April 30. You will be notified of the lottery results in early May. If selected, you may collect your original six tickets and tickets awarded through the lottery at the Commencement Pickup event in June.

Regalia Ordering
To participate in your commencement ceremony, all graduates must wear regalia, which can be purchased through Herff Jones. The deadline to order regalia is Tuesday, April 30. Refer to the Cap and Gown page on the commencement website for pricing and additional details.

Bachelor’s degree regalia includes a cap, gown, tassel, and red stole. Master’s and doctoral degree regalia includes a cap, gown, tassel, and hood. You are welcome to wear additional stoles and organization cords and decorate your cap for the ceremony.

You may choose to have your regalia shipped to your home (shipping fee applies) or to pick up your regalia on campus at Commencement Pickup (no shipping fees). You will be given this option when placing your order.

Student Speaker Application
Do you have an inspiring or encouraging message for your fellow graduates? All graduating students are welcome to apply to be the student speaker at their college’s  commencement ceremony. All applications must be received by Sunday, March 10. Please visit the Student Speaker page for information about submission eligibility and the application process.
