Classroom Tools and Resources

Incorporate career development into your curriculum

By partnering with the Career Center, you will have access to career exploration opportunities that can occur in or out of the classroom. The following are possible course assignment ideas or collaboration opportunities:

  • Career resource and video library: Share our Career Library, a collection of over 50 new handouts and supplemental videos on a wide variety of career topics!

  • Request a customized workshop or presentation — Are you interested in having staff present or lead a workshop on resumes, internships, interviewing, career exploration, or any other career development topic? If so, we can design a customized recorded or live presentation or workshop that meets your needs!  We can also help connect you to employer and alumni guest speakers. Submit a request.
  • Create a customized Practice Interview assignmentBig Interview is a video mock interview system. Students can access a database of thousands of questions for various experience levels and industries and rate and share their interview answers for feedback. It includes an Assignments section that allows you to create custom assignments using pre-recorded video questions. To get started:
      1. Open Big Interview and click the Login tab in the upper right. Note: Always use the Login link and NOT the Admin login link.
      2. Enter your Campus Connect details. Once logged in, complete your profile.
      3. Once you have created an account, please email career_center@depaul.edu to request admin privileges.
        • Once you have an account, you may login and select the Assignments tab from the top menu bar. Click on the How To Use Assignments button to start the tutorial video. For more assignment tips, review the Creating an Assignment help page.
        • You can share the “Completing as Assignment” help page with students or pull the text from that page to provide instructions to your students.

  • Attend a career event or fair — Bring your class to an event or fair, or incorporate workshop or networking event attendance into a professional development and reflection assignment.
