Services for Your Students

The Career Center supports DePaul's core identity of providing a practical and valuable education by offering a wide range of learning opportunities and real-world experiences to help students develop workplace skills and meaningful connections. Our career development and advising services will help students translate their unique attributes, strengths and experiences into a powerful personal brand, ensuring they are ready to engage in the marketplace. We have services and programs to assist students at every phase of the career decision-making and development process.

DePaul’s Career Coaches are each aligned with a Career Community. Career Communities are organized by industry, not major, to help students explore options and connect with tailored resources and programs. Students can opt into more than one community, and meet with more than one coaches, based on their needs and interests.

Please note: Law students and alumni are served by Law Career Services. DePaul MBA and MS Business students and alumni are serviced by the Kellstadt Career Management Center.

Our career exploration tools allow students to explore how to connect majors to specific careers. Career advisors also administer assessments to help students identify career paths that best match their interests.

Big Interview helps students and alumni learn how to answer the most common interview questions and practice by industry, competency, admissions interviews or general questions. Students can share their responses to get feedback.

Students can connect with a wide variety of employers each year at the Career Center's quarterly job and internship fairs. We host both general and industry-specific events. To view and register for upcoming career fairs, students must log in to Handshake.

Handshake is DePaul’s hub for job and internship listings, career event registration, on-campus interview information, and scheduling meetings with career advisors. Students can log in using their Campus Connect credentials. Check out our tips for using the platform.

The department of Career & Life Design (CLD) offers a variety of courses to help students explore, navigate, and design their life and career. These 2-credit courses offer structured support for a variety of stages of the career readiness process.

Students, alumni, staff and faculty are welcome to visit one of the Career Center's Headshot Booths located in both the Loop and Lincoln Park offices. Appointments can be made on Handshake or are available for drop-ins during work hours on a first-come, first-served basis.

With new and gently used professional and business casual clothing, the Career Closet is available for free for students and alumni. The Loop Career Closet is located within the Career Center office (DPC 9500) and the Lincoln Park location is within the Basic Needs Hub (Student Center 107). Appointments for the Loop closet are available on Handshake; students must register for access to the Basic Needs Hub.
