Classroom Tools and Resources

Incorporate career development into your curriculum

By partnering with the Career Center, you will have access to career exploration opportunities that can occur in or out of the classroom. The following are possible course assignment ideas or collaboration opportunities:

  • Career resource and video library: Share our Career Library, a collection of over 50 new handouts and supplemental videos on a wide variety of career topics!

  • Career readiness D2L classroom: Request access to our Career Readiness modules in a brand new D2L “classroom.” You can use this form to gain access to handouts, videos, presentations, assignment prompts, and quizzes on everything ranging from Writing a Resume to Negotiating Your Salary - all of which you can copy into your D2L classrooms! See a walkthrough of this “classroom” here.

  • Create a customized Practice InterviewInterviewStream is a video mock interview system. It includes a faculty module that allows you to create custom assignments using pre-recorded video questions that can be emailed to students. Check out the Faculty Guide for tips.

  • Request a customized workshop or presentation — Are you interested in having staff present or lead a workshop on resumes, internships, interviewing, career exploration, or any other career development topic? If so, we can design a customized recorded or live presentation or workshop that meets your needs!  We can also help connect you to employer and alumni guest speakers. Submit a request.

  • Attend a career event or fair — Bring your class to an event or fair, or incorporate workshop or networking event attendance into a professional development and reflection assignment.

  • Assign a resume, portfolio or cover letter critique — Students may schedule an appointment for a critique or take advantage of drop-in hours at both campuses. Appointments are available by phone and virtually.
