It is with sadness we have learned of the death of Sandra Shelton, a faculty member in the Driehaus College of Business for 27 years and founding member of the PhD Project. Shelton died at Evanston Hospital on Oct. 4 following a stroke.
It is with sadness we have learned of the death of Bob Hastings, the father of the College of Computing and Digital Media's Peter Hastings. He passed away on Aug. 22 with family at his side.
DePaul mourns the passing of John M. McCann, a former university sports information director and the father of Kevin McCann, academic advisor in the College of Education.
It is with sadness that we have learned of the July 11 death of Triple Demon Sherri Henderson, international admission coordinator in the Driehaus College of Business.
It is with sadness that we have learned of the death of David Woodfork of the Public Safety Office. David passed away on July 1 at the age of 49.
Dr. Jill O’Brien, professor emeritus in the College of Communication, passed away on June 30. She served DePaul University for 34 years, in the Department of Communication and then the College of Communication, in roles that included being the second communication studies program director and chair of the Department of Communication.
We are saddened to learn of the death of Elder Joseph Morgan Sr., father of Samuel D. Morgan, associate director of student records for the LAS College Office. Morgan passed away on June 10 at the age of 83.
Rachel Wojnicki and her husband, Niko, welcomed their daughter, Esme Louise, on May 25. The family of three is happily settling in at home. Rachel is the internal communications manager and Newsline editor in University Marketing and Communications.
Double Demons Matt Keller, a staff member in Information Services, and his wife, Kathryn, welcomed their son, Rowan Reed, on May 5. Their daughter, Audrey, is excited to finally be a big sister.
Christopher Love, a scholarship coordinator in the Office of Multicultural Student Success, and his wife, Chondra, welcomed a daughter on April 21. Camora Kehlani weighed 7 lbs 6 oz, and measured 20 inches long.

Michael Holmes, a 2020 graduate, died on April 20 from astrocytoma, a rare and aggressive brain cancer that took his life rapidly only a month after diagnosis. The loss has left his DePaul friends and classmates deeply saddened, yet also firmly resolved to ensure the memorable gifts and spirit he radiated and shared so freely will live on to inspire and benefit others.
It is with sadness we have learned of the death of Mark Joseph Bielanski, father of Jessica Peterson, the marketing communications specialist in the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs. Bielanski passed away on April 18, after a two-and-a-half-year battle with cancer. He was 71.
We are saddened to learn of the death of Gloria Enit Fred, mother of Norma Hidalgo, assistant director for credentialing in the LAS Undergraduate College Office. Fred passed away on March 27 at the age of 78.
We are saddened to learn of the death of James P. Hudson, father of Richard Hudson, a professional lecturer in the Department of Biological Sciences, on Jan. 24.
After 26 years as a distinguished American diplomat, Ambassador John Kordek returned to his alma mater to serve as associate vice president for external relations from 1991 until his retirement in 2004. Kordek died on Feb. 16 at home with his wife of 56 years by his side.
It is with sadness we have learned of the death of Donald Banik, a retired security officer at the Loop Campus. He passed away on Feb. 10 at the age of 86.
It is with sadness we have learned of the death of Edward P. Cohen, father of the College of Education's Jennifer L. Cohen. After unsuccessfully fighting COVID-19, Cohen died on Jan. 27.
We are saddened to learn of the death of Dan O'Donnell, father-in-law of Andy Clark, director of the Sports Business Program within the Department of Management and Entrepreneurship. O'Donnell passed away suddenly on Jan. 19 at the age of 80.
John J. Kozak, former executive vice president for Academic Affairs and professor of chemistry, passed away peacefully on Jan. 13 at the age of 80.

professor of Women’s and Gender Studies and director of the Faculty Scholarship
Collaborative. Skilken passed away peacefully at home on Jan. 16 at the
age of 91.
It is with sadness we have learned of the death of Robert Lee Easter, Jr., the husband of the School of Continuing and Professional Studies' Leyfane Thomas. Easter passed away on Jan. 4.
It is with sadness we have learned of the death of Gus Anton, father of Ted Anton, a professor of English. Anton passed away on Jan.3 at the age of 94, with his family by his side. May he rest in peace.

It is with sadness that we have learned of the death of Wallace “Wally" Allen Richardson, the father of Sarah Richardson of Biological Sciences in the College of Science and Health.
Lori Holland, the chair for DePaul University's Board of Trustees, died on Nov. 26 at the age of 63. A DePaul alumna, Holland made it a personal commitment to give future generations of students the opportunity to pursue a higher education.
Leonard Hugh McCain, father-in-law of the Irish Studies Program's Mary McCain, died from complications of COVID-19 on Oct. 12 in Brighton, Colorado. He was 91.

Halaska. He died on Oct. 22 at the age of
65 surrounded by his family.
Tyneka Harris Coronado, a Double Demon and project leader in Information Services, and her husband, David Coronado, also a Double Demon, welcomed a son, Mateo, on Sept. 28.

death of Dmitry Paperno, retired professor in the School of Music. He passed
away on Oct. 12 at the age of 91, and is survived by his wife, two daughters,
and four grandchildren.
It is with sadness that we share the news Lorraine A. Trzaska, mother of Janet Trzaska, director of Foundations Relations in Advancement, passed away at 94. She died peacefully in Palm Desert, Calif., on Sept. 23.
It is with sadness that we have learned of the death of Cathy R. May, 58, long-time professor of the Department of Political Science. Cathy first came to DePaul as an undergraduate student in the 1980s. She subsequently earned her Ph.D. at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and returned to DePaul's Department of Political Science where she taught for more than 20 years.
It is with sadness that we have learned of the death of Thomas Anthony LoSasso, the father of Professor Anthony T. LoSasso of the Departement of Economics. He passed away peacefully at age 83 in his home on Sept. 19 surrounded by his family.
It is with sadness we have learned of the death of Richard Allen Tindall, the brother of Tina Tindall of the Office of Financial Aid. Tindall died on Aug. 28.
It is with sadness we have learned of the death of Thomas David Walters, father-in-law of Bala Chaudhary, an assistant professor in the Department of Environmental Science and Studies. He passed away at home on Aug. 14 at the age of 82 due to cancer.
Katie Carelle, director of advertising and digital media in University Marketing and Communications, and her husband, Ryan, welcomed a daughter, Lily Marie, on Sept. 7.
