While there are a number of ways to schedule Zoom meetings, it is recommended to schedule them from D2L once Zoom has been integrated with the course. See Setting up Zoom and Creating a Zoom Meeting for more information. 

Yes, a Zoom meeting can be created on a device through D2L integration or through the Zoom app. See Setting up Zoom for instructions on how to log into the app via SSO, and Creating a Zoom Meeting for more information. 

Links to Zoom sessions can be added to any rich text area in D2L, like news items, activity feeds, and course content. Students will be able to join a meeting by clicking on the link provided at the scheduled time. Links can also be emailed to an entire class using the Classlist tool in D2L; however, spam filters or issues with third-party email providers may interfere with this function. 

Zoom offers features like screen-sharing, white boards, waiting rooms, and breakout rooms to simulate aspects of face-to-face interaction. Becoming familiar with these features can allow for personalization of Zoom meetings to best fit different teaching styles. Visit support.zoom.us to learn more.

Yes, students have access to a Zoom Pro license through DePaul. They can access Zoom by going to depaul.zoom.us and logging in with their @depaul.edu email address and Campus Connect password. From there, students can schedule meetings and share links with others to attend the meeting. See Helpful Tools for Students for more information on student access to Zoom. 

No, as long as the recording is only for the use of the class during the current term.

As long as no students appear in the recording, it may be saved and re-used as needed.

No. Any recording that includes students must be destroyed at the end of the quarter.

The only exception is if the instructor obtains a signed FERPA waiver from each student in advance. Please consult with the University Registrar at ursupport@depaul.edu.
