Recording a Live Class With Zoom

Instructors can use Zoom to create an ad hoc recording for absent students.

Record the Class on a Laptop Using the DePaul Zoom Website

Navigate to the DePaul Zoom website (depaul.zoom.us)
Select Host a Meeting, and select from the options that appear.
Select the Record button on the Zoom toolbar.
Select Record to Cloud.
When class is over, select the same button again, and choose Stop Recording.
A short time after the meeting ends, the instructor will receive an email containing a link and passcode. These can be shared with the student or the entire class, at the discretion of the instructor.

Select New Meeting on the Zoom desktop application.
If the camera is on, it can be pointed toward the class, but capturing good audio is most important.
Select the Record button on the Zoom toolbar.
Select Record to Cloud.
When class is over, select the same button again, and choose Stop Recording.
A short time after the meeting ends, the instructor will receive an email containing a link and passcode. These can be shared with the student or the entire class, at the discretion of the instructor.

Open the Zoom app on a phone.
Select the Meet button. Choose whether the video will be on or off.
Select Start a Meeting.
Touch the screen to reveal the toolbar, and select More.
Select Start Recording, and confirm the choice.
When class is over, touch the screen, select More, and choose Stop Recording. Confirm the choice twice.
Select End Meeting for All.
A short time later, the instructor will receive an email containing a link and passcode. These can be shared with one student or the entire class, at the discretion of the instructor.
