Instructors can use Zoom to create an ad hoc recording for absent students.

Record the Class on a Laptop Using the DePaul Zoom Website
- Navigate to the DePaul Zoom website (depaul.zoom.us)
- Select Host a Meeting, and select from the options that appear.
- Select the Record button on the Zoom toolbar.
- Select Record to Cloud.
- When class is over, select the same button again, and choose Stop Recording.
- A short time after the meeting ends, the instructor will receive an email containing a link and passcode. These can be shared with the student or the entire class, at the discretion of the instructor.

- Select New Meeting on the Zoom desktop application.
- If the camera is on, it can be pointed toward the class, but capturing good audio is most important.
- Select the Record button on the Zoom toolbar.
- Select Record to Cloud.
- When class is over, select the same button again, and choose Stop Recording.
- A short time after the meeting ends, the instructor will receive an email containing a link and passcode. These can be shared with the student or the entire class, at the discretion of the instructor.
Record the Class on a Phone Using the Zoom App
- Open the Zoom app on a phone.
- Select the Meet button. Choose whether the video will be on or off.
- Select Start a Meeting.
- Touch the screen to reveal the toolbar, and select More.
- Select Start Recording, and confirm the choice.
- When class is over, touch the screen, select More, and choose Stop Recording. Confirm the choice twice.
- Select End Meeting for All.
- A short time later, the instructor will receive an email containing a link and passcode. These can be shared with one student or the entire class, at the discretion of the instructor.
