Adding Descriptions to Modules and Topics in D2L's Content Area

Add a Description to a Module or Submodule

You can add descriptions to modules and submodules in the course Content area, and you can also add descriptions to items within modules (called "topics" in D2L). A description will appear below a module (or topic) title.  They can be used to add context and provide specific instructions for students.

When adding a description to a module, it will be visible to students when they view the entire table of contents or when they open the module. A submodule description is only visible when students select and open the submodule.

  1. Select the module or submodule for which the description will be added.
  2. Select the Add a description… text below the module title. A text box will appear beneath the module title.
