Recovering a Panopto Recording

Sometimes a Panopto recording created with the recorder on a may fail to upload to a “My Folder.” When this happens, the recording is still stored locally. It can be recovered from the “Manage Recordings” page. Directions will differ between Mac and Windows devices.

Recover a Local Recording on a PC

  1. Open the Panopto recorder.
  2. Select Manage Recordings [A].

  3. A list of recordings will appear. Next to the recording that needs to be retrieved, select either Upload to Server or Resume (this will depend on the type of error).
  4. Select the folder to which to upload the recording.
  5. The recording should resume uploading and appear in “My Folder” when complete.

Recover a Local Recording on a Mac

  1. Open the Panopto recorder.
  2. Select Manage Recordings [A].

  3. Select the recording from the list.
  4. Select Choose Folder and Upload [A].

  5. Choose the folder into which the recording should be uploaded.
  6. Select ​ Upload.
  7. The recording should resume uploading and appear in “My Folder” when complete.
